The Occupational Health Doctor & Diving Medicine Physician is the senior-most clinical leader at Bintulu Medical Centre, responsible for overseeing all medical, clinical, and administrative functions of the hospital. This role ensures that every department operates in full compliance with the Ministry of Health Malaysia's regulations and international healthcare standards. The Occupational Health Doctor & Diving Medicine Physician works closely with department heads, nursing leadership, and support services to drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes, staff development, and operational efficiency. As the primary liaison between the hospital's management and its clinical teams, the Occupational Health Doctor & Diving Medicine Physician plays a pivotal role in shaping healthcare policy, managing accreditation processes, and upholding the hospital's commitment to safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care
Oversees all clinical policies, protocols, and audits to ensure every department meets national and international healthcare standards, including MOH licensing requirements and accreditation benchmarks.
Leads hospital-wide patient safety initiatives, incident reporting systems, and quality improvement programmes to minimise risk and continuously enhance the standard of care delivered to every patient.
Mentors and supports the medical team through regular clinical meetings, continuing medical education (CME) activities, and performance reviews to build a skilled, motivated, and patient-centred workforce.
