The Diagnostic Imaging Department of Bintulu Medical Centre is located on the 2nd floor of the hospital. We provide a diverse range of radiographic service such as:
a) General Radiography
This examination uses X-rays to image virtually any body part like a photograph. The X-rays pass through the body and is captured on a film. The equipment may be static or mobile, allowing X-rays to be done by the bedside.
b) Ultrasound Examination
Ultrasound is a technique of imaging that uses high frequencies of sound waves to produce and image of the internal organs and structures of the body. It uses no X-rays.

c) Computerized Tomography Scan (CT Scan)
C.T Scan provides an excellent anatomical examination to obtain a comprehensive cross-sectional image of the body, such as head, chest, abdomen and spined A.O.T scan is an X-ray procedure enhanced by a computer. This results in a two-or three-dimensional view (referred to as a slice or a cross-section) of a particular part of the body. This examination can be done either with media contrast or without contrast.
A OT scan has many uses but it well-suited to quickly examine people who may have internal injuries from car accidents or other types of trauma. A OT scan can be used to visualize nearly all parts of the body and is used to diagnose disease or injury as well as to plan medical, surgical or radiation treatment.

d) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
The MRI system utilizes a magnet with a high field superconducting system and radio-frequency pulses to examine the body’s internal organs. It is the technique of choice for imaging of the brain. Spine (Central Nervous System) and musculoskeletal region.
BINTULU MEDICAL CENTRE is a centre with MRI services in Bintulu. Our services support ranges from General Practitioners (GP) to Bintulu Hospital (GH) with a very reasonable rate.
e) Mammography
This examination uses low dose X-rays to produce internal images of the breasts. It is usually used in breast cancer screening cancer our screening to detect tumours. Our female radiographer is well trained & skilful to handle mammography to all clients.
Operation Hours:-
Monday - Friday : 8:30 am - 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Saturday : 8:00 am - 12:30, 12:30pm - 8:00 pm (Radiologist On-call)
Sunday : 8:00 am - 12:30 pm (Radiographer Only)
